Clarinettist, saxophonist and flautist, he graduated from the Conservatoire de Nice and did his Classe de Jazz at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris.

This background has allowed him to perform with the Orchestre National De Paris, the European Symphony, and, at the same time to be approached by numerous jazz orchestras : the Paris Jazz Big band, the Jean-Pierre Como Quartet, the Hervé Sellin Tentet, the Michel Legrand Big band, among others.

Stéphane Chausse has also performed with artists such as, Quincy Jones, Claude Nougaro, Clark Terry, Benny Golson, Benny Maupin, Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, and Ray Charles.

His album, as a quartet (Alfio Origlio, Jérôme Regard and Stéphane Huchard) will be released in 2007 on the Nocturne label.
