Bertrand Lajudie started studying “classical” piano when he was very young.

When he was about 15 years old, he listened to Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, R&B etc. Slightly perplexed he dropped his classical studies. He played “progressive pop” (admittedly a rather peculiar term) in small bands… He eventually discovered jazz, and finally took up his classical studies again : harmony, counterpoint, and fugue, notably with Julien Falk.

He accompanied singer François Béranger for three excellent years (1978-1981) and wrote some music for him. After this, he spent time as a “studio musician” during which he worked with a large number of French musicians/vocalists.

He has realized, arranged and orchestrated many albums. He has also written music for TV dramas, and advertisements.

Alongside these activities, not forgetting his more personal taste, he joined the Paga Group (Bernard Paganotti, Claude Salmiéri, François Laizeau, Antoine Paganotti, Klaus Blasquiz, Eric Seva). He composed several tracks on both the “Haunted” and “Gnosis” albums, recorded by the group on the Bleu Citron label.

In September 2002, he released the album “Watercolours” under his name, accompanied by a dozen or so musicians, on the Swiss label Altrisuoni.

The album was distributed in France and abroad (Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan etc.) After its’ release concerts were given in France and abroad.

Since 2004, he has also taken part in concerts given by the percussionist, Mino Cinélu’s quartet.

He realized the album “Close to heaven” by, Franck Tortiller, the new musical director of the Orchestre National de Jazz, which was released in January 2006.

His second album “From here to there” was released in March 2006 on the Cristal Records label, distributed by Abeille Musique.
